About Ami Torres Art
My Work
I started drawing and painting probably before I could read. A love for Art was passed down to me from my angel, my abuelita.
I was raised by my mother and grandparents (who migrated from Mexico to Texas and eventually settling in Central Valley California Farm lands). My grandmother Tomasa Zamarripa Torres taught me a love for Art and healing,
so later in life when times got rough,
I basically put my pain on canvas.
The more pieces I created and sold, I learned the art of "letting go". It was a huge release and awakening for me. Having survived an incredible loss and health battles of my own.
I found myself in love with expression through mixed media and acrylic paint. I love bright, strange, weird and wonderful images. Santa Fe travels, mixed with warm purple California mountains. The heat from the Central California farmlands and the cool breezes in the high desert of Southern Oregon.
In 2021 I moved from California to Klamath Falls Oregon, to live a simple and tiny life, making art, enjoying waterfalls and campgrounds, raising my little family.
You can see some of my pieces at the Klamath Falls Art Association Gallery located in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Or purchase on my Mercari shop, "Ami Torres Art" which handles pricing, shipping in a safe way. Thank you and hope you can stop by!
